About Gershwin:

Gershwin is the gentleman of the family, he's a sweet guy and gives the best hugs. He has a mustache marking on his upper lip and has his own instagram account (click here) that he now shares with his sister. He'll romp with a ball or squeaky toy every so often, but while he isn't always toy-motivated or play-driven, he truly LOVES food - edible or non-edible alike! He's got a track record of eating inedible objects, including, but not limited to, a dremel head and a garden stake with some landscape fabric. He can be an active guy and enjoys a hike every now and then, but much prefers his warm, cozy bed and blankets at home. He enjoys digging and getting himself wrapped up all the way under his blankets, making himself into a "Gershwin Burrito," and earning himself the nickname Mother Theresa. Gershwin makes us smile every day, he's got a very specific morning routine where he wakes up with a nice morning stretch and belly rub before he waddles outside to go potty. He waggles his tail when he hears his friends' voices, and he wiggles his way between their legs for butt rubs. He has, unfortunately, shown some aggression towards other intact males, though he is manageable and he enjoys time with 2 or fewer female dogs at a time. He absolutely loves his ladies, and he and Bren have been inseparable since we brought her home. He has been the best big brother, they play well together and are pretty fond of each other. We love having Mr. Gershwin as a part of our family.

What's in a name?

George Gershwin was a composer in the 1930s - Rhapsody in Blue is his most popular piece. I named Gershwin after him because, even after 10 weeks of watching him grow up through pictures and videos, I still couldn't pick a name (despite my ongoing list of 100s of potentials)... When I finally went to meet him, I had a George Gershwin song called "They All Laughed" stuck in my head. The runner up was Chaplin, because Charlie Chaplin and the mustache... but it just didn't work. His registered name (Ch. Mano's Mustached Hare) was not chosen by me, but by his breeders... Mano, meaning "shark" in Hawaiian, is his breeder's kennel name, Mustache because of obvious reasons, and Hare because he was born the day after Easter (Easter bunny litter!). 😊❤️ Nicknames include: Gersh(y), Goose, Little Dog, Stinker.

Achievements:

Gershwin was awarded Puppy Group 3 in his first show at 6 months old, and again at his second show at the Denver Cluster in early 2015. In his last "puppy" show, he received another Puppy Group 3. He was number 16 in the Top 20 Owner-Handled Mini Bulls in his first full year of showing in 2015. He became a champion on April 9, 2017. Gershwin acquired his Canine Good Citizen title on October 12, 2017, and in 3 rally trials, he completed each run with a qualifying score for his Rally Novice title on December 1, 2018. He is officially retired from showing and is enjoying spending time with his little sisters and competing in the other dog sports that he enjoys.
